Vocation Talk at Newman Centre
February 1, 2009
Sister Jeanine Scarfone, General Director the Sisters of Social Service gave a reflection on Vocations at Newman Centre in Toronto, ON on the day the Church celebrates the World Day for Consecrated Life (Feb. 1, 2009). She introduced her reflection by stating "I want to share with you a Love story…the love that God has for us and our response to that love. It is about developing a deep relationship over time with God who is love".
And concluded with a blessing: May you be quickened by the Spirit who fills the whole earth and lives in you! May you stand firm and tall like a mountain. May you move through the world like the wind, listening to the secrets alive in your heart and the hearts of others. May the holy Fire that burns in you become bright, become Love - a passion for justice and unity in our world. May you be life-giving water for all, shaping and being shaped, flowing into the fullness of God. And may the Holy Spirit continue to guide and bless you with wisdom". Amen.
